Now in an exclusive interview with ETimes, he shared how the film came about. He said, “People wanted it, and now they will have it. There are some projects that you do for your audience and for someone like me, I’m a selfish artist, I do things for myself and not for anyone else. But Mirzapur is one such project – when I heard about the film… I immediately said yes …my thought was our audiences want it ..let’s just give it to them ..they will enjoy it, and will relish it.The script is in the works right now ..whatever little I’ve heard about the film… it is very interesting… I’m sure people will like it.”
The Mirzapur film would be the fifth time Divyenndu would be collaborating with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production house after Mirzapur 1, 2, Madgaon Express and Agni. Talking about his experience of working with two of them he said, “ They both are lovely people and they work on merit, and that is the best part. They don’t work on any preconceived notion about anyone, they respect you as an artist , they respect your voice, and they are very democratic, its not like there is some big boss sitting in the studio… we have a very friendly vibe with each other, but have a lot of respect for each other too.”
