After ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, netizens feel Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’ makers did not give Amitabh Bachchan the respect he deserves: ‘He was a wiki page for the Astraverse sadly’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Amitabh Bachchan is getting immense accolades for his latest performance as Aswatthama in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. While the movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone as well, Bachchan has a really strong part to play in the movie. Infact, Prabhas’ role in the movie was more like an anti-hero opposite Bachchan. Recently, the producer of the film, Ashwini Dutt said, “Prabhas told me that Amitabh Bachchan is the first hero of Kalki 2898 AD.We should respect him, and that’s when we will be respected. He also mentioned that his dream came true when Kamal Haasan joined the project.”
Now after watching the movie and reading what the producer has to say, the internet is appalled and strongly feels that the makers of ‘Brahmastra’ did not do justice to Big B. A post on Reddit has gone viral which says, “I feel brahmastra makers didn’t gave that respect to Amitabh.” Here’s how users have commented on it. A person wrote, “Amitabh was pretty much a wiki page for the Astraverse sadly. It’s such an ageist trope, glad Kalki works against it. They also cast a dark Krishna and had so many badass women in the supporting roles. Pretty great strides.”
Another person said, “I mean Prabhas being such a big star still made sure Amitabh and kamal’s name was first (his name was third) whereas ranbir famously made himself first billing in bhramastra, it shows how different Prabhas and nag Ashwin handled it compared to ranbir and company.”
A user commented, “Yeah now that I go back and think of it the makers of Brahmastra should have credited Amitabh Bachchan in-front of stars like Ranbir, Alia. He’s a LEGEND, it does feel like there was disrespect towards him by crediting him after them.”
A person expressed, “Ayan lacked the vision for the whole concept. When I saw the rumours about how initially it was about Rumi, it cleared up why Brahmastra turned out so lackluster. In my opinion, Ayan wasn’t ready with the Astraverse. He neither did his homework nor charted out properly. Technically, he should’ve made the first movie as Shiva discovering his powers and getting trained and leaving in a cliffhanger about his dad and his mysterious connection with fire and Isha. That would’ve given a meaty role to AB and Ranbir. Also, given enough space and time for establishing how critical SRK’s and Nagarjuna’s roles are in guarding it. Since he presented a half cooked story which was intended to showcase only RK-Alia’s unbelievable love story and the important role of Guruji ended up being a side character with meme dialogues (Isha is your button/switch) 🤦🏻‍♀️ Since the focus was RK-Alia, they gave zero respect to the characters who actually made the movie bit bearable 🤦🏻‍♀️”
