With the TV umpire not ruling Kohli’s dismissal in the batter’s favour, Kohli lost his cool and engaged in a animated chat with the on-field umpires before storming off the field, and indulging in the same afterwards as well.

Virat Kohli has never been one to pull back his punches, on and off the field. Today was yet another day where the talisman batter went to bat for his team and himself after RCB’s loss to KKR, as footage of Kohli interacting with the match umpire in a heated debate went viral online.

KKR took to the crease with the bat first, A blazing start courtesy of Phil Salt followed by a measured fifty from skipper Shreyas Iyer followed by late flourish from Ramandeep Singh helped KKR post a big total of 22/6 in 20 overs against RCB.

It was a chase that went down to the wire. Controversial calls from the umpires for both sides, quickfire blitzes from batters all across the batting order, and timely wickets: it had it all, with one of the most controversial calls being that of Kohli’s dismissal today.

The delivery, first of the third over bowled by Harshit Rana, was above the waist but Kohli was out of his crease and Hawk Eye technology predicted it wouldn’t have been the case if the RCB opener was inside the popping crease.

Kohli reviewed the decision after lobbing the ball back to the bowler for an easy catch. However, with the TV umpire not ruling in his favour, he lost his cool and engaged in a animated chat with the on-field umpires before storming off the field.

After the match, footage of Kohli engaged in a spirited conversation with the umpire also surfaced.

After a tough start, the likes of Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar came in to scorch the KKR bowlers at ease and set RCB up. But, a sensational couple of overs, one from Narine and the other from Russell, ensured that the duo scalped two wickets each and silenced the RCB ranks once again.

When all hope was lost going into the last over, with Dinesh Karthik not at the crease and KKR needing 22 runs off the last over, Karn Sharma came in with three sixes off Starc, but when it mattered the most fell, as KKR eked out a thrilling 1-run win.
