Kohli had opted to stay back in India for a handful of days and chose not to travel with the initial crop of Indian players who took off for New York in order to spend some quality time with his family.
The King departs, but not before he sends his thanks to those who support him. Talisman Indian batter Virat Kohli had a wholesome encounter with the paparazzi tonight, before taking off for the USA to join his teammates for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.
Kohli was headed for New York when at the airport, the superstar batter was seen indulging in conversation with the paparazzi and some fans alike.

Members of the paparazzi thanked Kohli and also his wife, Anushka Sharma, for the gift hampers that the Indian batter had distributed to members of the paparazzi earlier.
In a wholesome moment, Kohli can be seen signing an autograph for a young fan, who has drawn a sketch of the talisman batter, and whilst doing so, a member of the paparazzi present thanked the batter, stating ‘Aapka gift accha tha’ (Your gift was very nice).

After hustling for two straight months, the members of Team India assembled in New York for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, starting later this week.

On Wednesday, the men in blue, sans Virat Kohli, began their preparations for the T20 World Cup with a morning training session, considering the 10.30 am starts for all its preliminary games. A white kookaburra in slightly windy mornings could be a challenge and to be prepared for that, the severely jet-lagged bodies need to get used to morning conditions.
Rohit Sharma & Co will begin their campaign on June 5 against Ireland in Nassau County, New York. India have been placed in Group A, alongside Ireland, Canada, hosts USA and arch-rivals Pakistan.
After Ireland, India will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9 at Nassau County. They take on hosts USA on June 12 before the cricket caravan moves to familiar Lauderhill in Florida for the game against Canada on June 15.
