Mustafa Kamal apologizes over anti-judiciary remarks – SUCH TV



Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan leader Mustafa Kamal apologized unconditionally for the anti-judiciary statement.

MNA Mustafa Kamal submitted the affidavit to the Supreme Court Karachi Registry.

Mustafa Kamal took the stance that he respects the judges of the Supreme Court and could not even imagine defaming the authority and reputation of the judiciary and judges.

Mustafa Kamal said: “I seek unconditional forgiveness for my statement regarding the judiciary, especially on the press conference of May 16, I request forgiveness from the honorable court and leave myself at the mercy of the court.”

Earlier, the Supreme Court issued a notice of contempt of court to Faisal Wada and Mustafa Kamal for their anti-judiciary statement. The contempt of court case against the two leaders will be heard tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Supreme Court issued show cause notices to Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal to appear in person.

A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.

The Supreme Court said that Article 19 gives freedom of expression, but there is a restriction on contempt of court.

The Supreme Court ordered Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal to appear in a personal capacity and asked Faisal Vawda to reply within two weeks. The order asked Faisal Vawda and Mustafa Kamal to explain their statements.
