‘Would be Good Theatre’: Travis Head Feels Another ICC Final Between India and Australia Would be Box-office – News18
Australian opener Travis Head has had a tremendous couple of years as he led the charge for the team from down under as they claimed the World Test Championship and ICC World Cup in some style, both against India in the final.
The southpaw’s contributions in both summit clashes proved crucial as he added 163 runs in the first innings of the WTC 2023 final for his team’s cause. While his unbeaten 137-run knock in the ICC WC Final in India helped the Aussies chase down the target and claim their record-extending sixth World Cup.
With the ICC T20 World Cup in full swing, Head expressed that another India-Australia final would be good theatre and that the men in blue would be out for revenge after their recent heartbreaks.
“It would be nice. It would be nice to be in the final. I think everyone in India would love that, especially considering what’s happened in the last two finals. So, I’m sure India wants some revenge at some point,” Head said.
“There would be good theatre around it if that were the case. Let’s hope that we’re in it, and let’s hope you’re in it, and we’ll see what happens,” he added.
He praised the quality available in the Indian team and termed the men in blue as one of the heavyweights in he tournament.
“India is in good hands. I think you could probably name four or five teams that are going to be in the mix,” he continued.
He singled out the quality India possesses and opined that the chances of the men in blue having a deep run in the tournament is very strong.

“Playing an attacking brand of cricket is crucial for them. With Rohit and Virat, and their exceptional bowling led by star bowler Bumrah, who has also been outstanding in the IPL, their chances are high,” Head opined.
“Their chances are probably similar to the three or four other teams that are in contention,” the 30-year-old reiterated before signing off.
