Joey King is over the moon about her best friend Sabrina Carpenter’s recent success in the music industry. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the Despicable Me 4 premiere, King couldn’t contain her excitement for Carpenter’s achievements.

“I literally was sobbing after the show. I was so proud of her. She’s just amazing,” King said, referring to Carpenter’s performance at the Governors Ball music festival.

King also revealed her obsession with Carpenter’s new song, “Please Please Please,” produced by Taylor Swift’s collaborator Jack Antonoff. “I’m so happy for her and I just can’t stop singing ‘Please Please Please’ … get out of my head,” King confessed. “It’s so rude of her to make a hit like that. It’s also so rude to make such an addicting music video.”

The two Disney alums, who met years ago at an industry charity event, have been enjoying significant career milestones lately. Carpenter opened for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour and scored a major hit with “Espresso,” while King is set to star in the upcoming Netflix rom-com A Family Affair, alongside Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron.
