The Ambani scion Anant Ambani exchanged wedding vows with his childhood sweetheart, Radhika Merchant, yesterday. The wedding ceremony looked no less than a fairy tale brought to life and is being called the wedding of the century. This opulent affair captivated the world with its sheer grandeur and a guest list that read like a who’s who of global celebrities and dignitaries.

From international icons such as Kim and Khloe Kardashian to Bollywood royalties like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and even former UK prime ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, the event was a convergence of fame and power under one roof. Well, the national and international guest list is the talk of the town, it is the wedding menu that’s being called the next big thing today.

As per a social media post shared by a leading daily, the Ambani family spared no expense in ensuring their esteemed guests were treated to a feast fit for royalty and the culinary journey spanned continents, offering a sumptuous blend of traditional Indian delicacies and exotic global cuisines. Guests indulged in creamy Rabri, refreshing Lassi, and even extravagant treats like Caviar served atop Tiramisu. There was even a Lassi Shop, where one could savour the Sweet and Rabdi Lassi, which has been ranked in the Taste Atlas list of the best dairy drinks. Then, one could also see a Chai Store, where one could get an amazing variety of teas from across the country.

The dessert spread was a spectacle in itself, featuring edible masterpieces that blurred the lines between food and art. Each creation was meticulously crafted to delight both the palate and the eye, reflecting the Ambani wedding’s extravagant theme.

Chef Avinash Martin, who innovates Goan cuisine at Cavatina Goa made an extensive and exotic menu for the wedding that included Tender Coconut Carpaccio, Pao De Queso, Jeeresal Pancake, Dangar Artisanal Goat’s Cheese, Asparagus & Pine Nut Caldin, Wok Tossed Edamame & Brussel Sprouts Kismur, Dirty Grilled Sweet Potato & Corn Gallette along with Glazed King Oyster Mushroom Xacutti.

There was a counter of Central voted the World’s Best Restaurant 2023, which served dishes like Zucchini & Asparagus Tiradito with Purple Amaranth, Avocado Emulsion & Peruvian Corn, Cantaloupe Ceviche & Burrata, Cashew Roll, Moutain Chimichurri & Fresh Cheese, Dates & Lentil Triangles, Pistachio Tigers Milk, Extreme Altitude Seeds, Smoked Tomato, Amazonian Cassava Textures, Coconut Milk, Burnt Cauliflower, Strawberry, Aji Limo and Saffron.

But the celebrations were far from over. Spanning three days, the festivities included a ‘Shubh Aashirwad’ on July 13 and culminated in the grand wedding reception ‘Mangal Utsav’ on July 14. Beyond being a union of hearts, Anant and Radhika’s wedding transcended into a cultural phenomenon, leaving an indelible mark on the annals of extravagant wedding celebrations.
