The controversial lyrics claim that all players of the French national team are from Angola, whilst their parents all hail from multiple parts of Africa, insinuating that none can claim France to be their true home.

Players of the Argentina national team are in hot water following their Copa America triumph for allegedly singing a racist chant for France.

The squad was returning from the stadium after the final when Enzo Fernandez started an Instagram live. At that moment, his teammates were indulged in a wild celebration inside the bus. They were signing a Spanish song before suddenly switching to the racist and transphobic chant, which was popularised by Argentina fans ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.

The controversial lyrics claim that all players of the French national team are from Angola, whilst their parents all hail from multiple parts of Africa, insinuating that none can claim France to be their true home.

In Enzo Fernandez’s Instagram live, the footballers can be heard singing the first few lines of the vile song including the Angola portion– “Listen, spread the word, they play in France, but they are all from Angola.” That’s when someone on the team bus asked Fernandez to “cut the video” and the Chelsea midfielder immediately ended the live broadcast.

Fans online had already recorded that controversial part of the Instagram live and shared the footage on social media, as the masses are left torn at the actions of the players, with many slamming the Argentina squad for their insensitivity, whilst others claiming that it is all being done in the name of friendly banter.

Argentina’s Football Federation is yet to address the viral footage from Enzo Fernandez’s Instagram live, and release a statement regarding the same.
