Bhagyashree shared a special recipe with unpeeled potatoes that can help alleviate muscle cramps. Potato skin is packed with magnesium and potassium.

Have you ever experienced a sudden, sharp pain in your calf or hand, seemingly out of nowhere? Many of us have faced muscle cramps at least once in our lives. While they might seem like a minor inconvenience, muscle cramps can have a significant impact on our daily lives and overall well-being. To help alleviate these painful spasms, actress Bhagyashree recently shared a simple and unique home remedy with the online community that could offer relief from cramps.

The special ingredient Bhagyashree used was potato peels. She highlighted their benefits by explaining that they are “packed with magnesium and potassium,” essential nutrients that muscles need. Bollywood actor and nutritionist Bhagyashree recently shared a YouTube video on her channel, discussing the causes of cramps and providing insights on how to achieve lasting relief.

In her clip, Bhagyashree can be heard saying in Hindi, “Cramps occur due to the lack of potassium and magnesium. The best way to increase both together is to have potato skin in the form of a sabzi.”

Let’s have a look at the recipe below:

Ingredients Required

  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Jeera or cumin seeds-1 tsp
  • Asafoetida-1 pinch
  • Cumin powder-1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Coriander powder-1 tsp
  • Amchur powder or dry mango powder-1 tsp
  • Unpeeled boiled potatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Method Of Preparation

To prepare the dish, start by heating some oil in a pan. Saute 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and a pinch of asafoetida until fragrant. Next, add red chilli powder, coriander powder, and a spoonful of aamchur (dried mango powder). Then, incorporate boiled potatoes with their peels, along with a bit of water and salt to taste. Allow the mixture to cook slowly, letting the flavours meld together. Serve the flavorful dish with chapatis or rice and enjoy!

Sharing the recipe, the actress wrote, “Potato skins are high in magnesium and potassium. These are essential minerals that we require on a daily basis. A non-expensive, simple way to add them to your daily diet is not scraping potato skins but cleaning them well and using them in food preparations. Crispy oven-baked potato skins with sprinkled spices also taste very good.”

Bhagyashree made her mark in the spotlight with the hit movie Maine Pyar Kiya, starring opposite Salman Khan. Despite the film’s immense success, she chose to take a break from acting to prioritise her family life. Beyond her acting career, Bhagyashree is also recognised for her dedication to social causes and her advocacy for health and wellness.
