Boiling Springs Stakes at Monmouth Park
Las Vegas, NV – The Grade 3 Boiling Springs Stakes comes our way from Monmouth Park this Saturday, June 23rd. Three year old fillies will be after a share of the $100,000 purse when they go 1 1/16 miles on Monmouth’s turf track.
A field of nine females have been entered in the Boiling Point that goes as race 11 on Monmouth Park’s Saturday card. Post time is 5:48 PM. There is only one graded stakes winner in the field however. Let’s take a glance into all nine entries past performances and what we can expect on Saturday.
Somali Lemonade – finished rather disappointing sixth in the Grade 2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf on November 4th at Churchill Downs to end her 2011 campaign but has looked better in her two starts of 2012 – a fourth as favorite last time out in the Grade 2 Sands Point Stakes at Belmont followed a decent second in the Grade 3 Appalachian Stakes at Keeneland on April 19th. Somali Lemonade does have two wins in her five race career – the Grade 3 JP Morgan Chase Jessamine Stakes in October and a Maiden Special Weight score at Belmont Park on September 11th. Somali Lemonade is fast and is one of two small favorites in the race.
Zultanite – has placed in her last four starts – the last being a decent third as 23-1 long shot in her graded stakes debut. She ended her 2011 campaign with a win in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Aqueduct and so far this year has a second and two third place finishes.
Dancing Solo – most recently won the Little Silver Stakes on this track on May 27th against a host of her Boiling Point Stake running mates. Dancing Solo has a win, two seconds and a third place finish in her last four starts, perhaps the most impressive result over that span was a second in the Grade 3 Bourbonette Stakes at Turfway on March 24th. She has two wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in nine career starts.
Glamour N Glory – most recently finished second to Dancing Solo in the Little Silver after another impressive result – a second in the Calder Oaks. Glamour N Glory has raced six times already in 2012 with a win and three second place finishes.
