BTS Suga bows to apologise for DUI incident before entering police station

BTS ARMY has flooded social media with support as Suga faced a DUI investigation.

The BTS member arrived at the Yongsan Police Station on the evening of Friday, August 23, 17 days after falling from his e-scooter while riding under the influence of alcohol.

As the 31-year-old South Korean rapper underwent further questioning, fans rallied online, especially on X, formerly Twitter, to show their support. The platform was inundated with hashtags like #SugaStays, #ARMYShieldsBTS, #BTSisSeven, and #ItsGonnaBeAlright.

“Holy S—! This is insane [fire emoji] 15 BTS-related hashtags are trending simultaneously [horror emoji] ARMY’s bringing the heat today,” one fan remarked.

ARMY expressed pride in Suga for his cooperation with the investigation and downplayed the need for further scrutiny, considering his previous written apology.

Before entering the police station, the K-pop star made another public apology, bowing twice and saying, “I’m sorry, I’m very sorry.”

“I sincerely regret and am reflecting on the fact that I have caused great disappointment to many of my fans and the public. I will fully cooperate with the investigation,” he added.

Although Suga’s driving license has been revoked and he has been fined, he still needs to answer questions from the police, as officers noted he was too intoxicated to respond at the time of the incident.
