Diddy’s ex-girlfriend breaks silence, reveals Cassie’s assault video has ‘triggered her own trauma’ | The Express Tribune
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Misa Hylton, has voiced her support for Casandra “Cassie” Ventura following the release of a video showing the music producer assaulting Cassie and his longtime ex-girlfriend.
The fashion designer posted two images of Combs’ seven children on Instagram, expressing in the caption that she was “heartbroken” over what Ventura must be experiencing.
In the post Hylton said, “I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma.
“These young people were raised by women that want the best for them — we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.”
Hylton continued, “Their father needs help and I am praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”
Hylton’s post follows the release of a video by CNN on Friday, showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel.
The video shows Combs grabbing Ventura by the neck, throwing her to the floor, kicking her multiple times while she is immobile, dragging her by her sweatshirt, shoving her, and throwing an object at her.
On Sunday, Combs posted an apology video on Instagram, acknowledging his behavior: “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f***ed up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office issued a statement on Saturday, stating that it had seen the “extremely disturbing” video but could not prosecute Combs because the statute of limitations had expired.
