When a stat came to light, Domino’s Pizza took a sly dig at the footballer, resharing a post that read, “Jude Bellingham was England’s highest-rated player at the Euros” with a snarky comment of their own.

Jude Bellingham was not at his best in the recently concluded EURO where his team England became the runners-up after losing the final to Spain.

The Real Madrid star entered the continental showpiece as a Champions League winner. He kicked off the EURO campaign on a promising note, striking the winner in the opening group match against Serbia. Bellingham pulled off a brilliant overhead kick to score the equaliser in England’s 2-1 comeback against Slovakia.

Except for these two matches, the youngster could not produce anything significant in the entire tournament.

After the final in Berlin, Whoscore revealed that Jude Bellingham was statistically the best performer for England in the European Championship, with a rating of 7.36.

When the stat came to light, Domino’s Pizza took a sly dig at the footballer, resharing a post that read, “Jude Bellingham was England’s highest-rated player at the Euros.”

The restaurant chain sarcastically compared Ballingam’s EURO rating with pineapple pizza topping. “Yeah, and pineapple is our highest-rated topping,” Domino’s wrote.

The post took no time to become viral, leaving football fans in splits. Many fans added to the fun sharing a hearty laugh at the fact that Jude Bellingham got “roasted by a pizza place”, while other didn’t take the banter lightly and slammed the pizza chain.

After England suffered a 2-1 defeat to Spain in Berlin, many fans criticised Gareth Southgate for not using his substitutes at the right time. According to ESPN’s journalist Mark Ogden, even Jude Bellingham was not happy with Southgate’s strategy in the EURO final.

“Jude Bellingham was getting frustrated, I don’t know if it came across on camera. Just before Kane was taken off, Bellingham lost it with Gareth Southgate on the side of the pitch as if to say ‘change something, do something’ and Kane was taken off,” Ogden reported.

Gareth Southgate has been in charge of the England national team since 2016. During his tenure, the Three Lions have featured in four major tournaments. They reached the final in the last EURO as well but lost to Italy.
