Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park
Las Vegas, NV – The Grade 1 Frizette Stakes goes down this Saturday, October 6 from Belmont Park in the lovely state of New York. The race will feature two year olds willing to go one mile on Belmont’s main dirt track for their share of the $400,000 purse.
The Frizette has drawn a strong field of seven juveniles for race 7 on Belmont’s Saturday card. Post time is 4:02 PM. Here is a brief glimpse into the past performances of all seven entries ahead of this Grade 1, Breeders, Cup “Win and You’re In” race.
Dreaming of Julia – Todd Pletcher filly enters the Frizette having started two career races and winning both – a win on August 6 by an astounding ten and a half lengths at Saratoga was followed by an equally impressive 16 1/4 length score in the Meadow Star Classic last time out here on September 9. She will have legendary jockey John Velazquez in the saddle to help on a quest for continued perfection.
My Happy Face – has two career starts as well – both Maiden Special Weight races. Last time out was a win at Saratoga on August 31 by an amazing 21 1/4 lengths to follow up a second to Teen Pauline in her debut on that same track July 25.
Sweet Shirley Mae – broke maiden in his first career start in May at Belmont and followed that with a fifth in the Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga on July 20. Last time out was a very good second in the Grade 1 Spinaway at Saratoga on September 2 for trainer Wesley Ward. Joel Rosario will get the mount.
