Graded Stakes Race Results – June 16th/17th
Las Vegas, NV — Another week of horse racing action is in the books. There was no triple crown race on the schedule but there was still plenty of important graded stakes action. Here is a brief review of a few and how some of the favorites and the long shots paid.
Top 3 Finishers
The 38th running of the Hill Prince Stakes took place at Belmont on Saturday. As favorite Summer Front was very impressive as he stretched his win streak on grass to four races. Second favorite How Great did everything that he could but Summer Front was too strong. Bill Mott trained Film Shot at 15-1 was an impressive third. Here are the payouts for the Hill Prince.

The Grade 3 All Along Stakes went down Saturday, June 16th from Colonial Downs. Snow Top Mountain at 5/1 regained the form that saw her look good prior to her last two starts. She outraced 20/1 shot Clare Skies Ahead by a neck. Another non-favorite 12/1 Shimmering Moment finished third. Here are the payouts.

Delaware Park hosted the Grade 3 Obeah Stakes on Saturday. It was Todd Pletcher-trained Love and Pride at 5/2 that outlasted all others in her first graded stakes win. 9/5 favorite Tiz Miz Sue tried hard to close but finished second while Check Point at 15/1 finished third.

The 71st running of the Grade 1 Vanity Handicap went down on June 16th at Betfair Hollywood Park. It was a day for the long shots. 18/1 Love Theway You are shook off a streak in which she placed in just one of eleven and ran down favorite Include Me Out. English bred Zafeen’s Pearl finished a very impressive third in her US debut. On a disappointing not – Ellafitz and Zazu were scratched from the Vanity. Here are the payouts.

The Grade 3 Pegasus Stakes took place at Monmouth on Sunday in what shaped up to be a pretty good race. The top three all but secured their entry into the $1 million Haskell on July 29th. 3/1 Le Bernardin outran 6/1 Easter Gift while another 3/1 shot Good Morning Diva finished third.
