In an interview with Hindustan Times after retirement, Dhawan was asked about the actors who could characterize his role on the silver screen if a biopic is made on him. In reply, the former opener said he would be open to doing it himself but as far as other actors are concerned, he picked superstars Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh.
“I would love it, only if it is made well. As for me acting in it, I would happily do it in case I added any value to the film. As for other actors, I would love for Akshay Paaji (Akshay Kumar) to do it, or even Ranveer Singh, for the sheer energy he has,” Dhawan was quoted as saying.
While announcing his retirement, Dhawan said he leaves the scene a content man, having represented the national team in all three formats since making his international debut in 2010 in an ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam.
