Imran Khan major hurdle in talks with PTI says Nawaz – SUCH TV
PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has provided clarity on the party’s position regarding negotiations with the PTI, highlighting that PTI Founder Imran Khan was a major obstacle in the talks.
Nawaz Sharif articulated these sentiments during a meeting with party senators on Friday evening, where the issue of negotiations with the PTI was extensively discussed.
The senators questioned Nawaz Sharif about the party policy on negotiations with the PTI, sources disclosed.
Nawaz Sharif emphasized that Imran Khan himself was not displaying seriousness in the negotiation process, which poses a significant challenge to fruitful discussions. He questioned the feasibility of negotiations when one party involved is not committed to the process. “How can one negotiate when he is not serious?” Nawaz responded to the party lawmakers.
Furthermore, Nawaz Sharif referenced past instances where Imran Khan had rejected offers of friendship, indicating a pattern of reluctance to engage in constructive dialogue. He expressed frustration over perceived insincerity from the PTI’s side, citing instances where PML-N’s sincerity has been misconstrued as weakness.
“I travelled to Bani Gala myself. Our sincerity is considered our weakness,” the former premier stressed.
In an effort to underscore the importance of dialogue despite political differences, Nawaz cited the example of his meeting with the late Benazir Bhutto, despite facing staunch opposition.
“Benazir Bhutto was a great political leader, who signed the Charter of Democracy despite strong opposition between the two,” he recalled.
The discussion surrounding negotiations with PTI reflects the ongoing political dynamics in Pakistan, with PML-N taking a firm stance on the issue. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the clarity provided by Nawaz Sharif regarding PML-N’s position on negotiations with PTI will likely have significant implications for future political developments in the country.
