The Kolkata Knight Riders are the first side to make it to the finals of the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

KKR were absolutely dominant with the ball to start things off as Mitchell Starc took three wickets in the powerplay which included the explosive Travis Head within the first over followed by Nitish Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed to put Pat Cummins’ side in disarray.

Sunil Narine who has been having his best season with the bat chipped in with a quick cameo of 21 runs to take him closer to the 500-run mark for the season.

Riyan Parag: After years of backing the youngster who has been under pressure, the Assamese batter has finally announced his arrival with the bat in stunning fashion. Being handed down the responsibility at the number four position, Parag has found the magical consistency with the bat he has lacked in the previous years and seems like one for the future for many years to come.

Sai Sudharshan: The young left-handed batter has shown versatility in his batting position being able to comfortably open the batting along with coming down at the number three slot as well. Despite GT’s season not panning out as they expected, the youngster has been the shining light for the franchise and has brought about his best season with the bat in his brief career in the IPL. The team will look to back the youngster for the future seasons and could be the next big star.
