The Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auction List was released on Friday with a total of 574 players set to be featured in the Mega Auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24th and 25th November 2024.
Out of the 574 Players, 366 are Indian and 208 are overseas, including 3 players from associate nations. The Auction will include 318 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped overseas players – Ali Khan and Unmukt Chand of the USA as well as Scotland’s Brandon McMullen.
The IPL player registration officially closed on November 4 with an impressive total of 1,574 players — 1,165 Indian and 409 overseas — signing up to be part of the Mega Player Auction for the 2025 edition of the tournament.

As of now, 46 players have been retained by the 10 franchises with a cumulative expenditure of INR 558.5 Crore. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and inaugural season’s winner Rajasthan Royals (RR) had opted for full retentions, securing six players each. Five teams — Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat Titans (GT), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) — have retained five players. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained four, three, and two players, respectively.

The 10 franchises collectively have around INR 641.5 Crore to spend on 204 slots up for grabs with 70 available slots for overseas players.
INR 2 Crore is the highest reserve price with 81 players opting to be in the highest bracket. There are 27 players with a reserve price of INR 1.50 Crore each while 18 players will go into the mega auction with a reserve price of INR 1.25 Crore.
Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Arshdeep Singh are in Set 1 with England’s Jos Buttler and Kagiso Rabada of South Africa. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has been placed in Set 2, alongside Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj.
