IPL Auction 2025 Today Live Updates: The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction is being held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). For the latest IPL auction, 577 players have been shortlisted after discussions with the 10 teams. Several top stars including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jos Buttler, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Kagiso Rabada among others are part of the auction pool.
In the lead up to the IPL auction, the franchises were asked to retain maximum six players while releasing the remaining ones from their squad that they assembled for the previous season. The teams retained from two (Punjab Kings) to six players (Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals). There are 204 vacancies and 70 of them are available for overseas players. Of the 577 names in the IPL auction players list, 367 are Indian while 210 overseas.
