Katy Perry gives rare glimpse into personal life: ‘I’m a polarizing figure’
Katy Perry, who’s making headlines, has shared untold story about her personal life and career during her appearance on a show.
The 39-year-old songstress, on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, has opened up about ups and downs in her life.
The Wheel of Fortune host recalled the release of her “controversial” song I Kissed a Girl, to which Perry replied that “all” of her songs have been actually controversial.
The Roar hitmaker, who has received backlash for her recent album, went on claiming: “I’m a polarizing figure.”
Some social media users flayed Perry for working with music producer Łukasz Sebastian Gottwald, who is professionally known as Dr. Luke.
Luke was accused of sexual assault and battery by singer Kesha in 2014. However, some fans expressed excitement over the new album, released in June.
The critics slammed the singer for her collaboration with Dr. Luke, especially on the single Woman’s World, which is supposed to be a female empowerment anthem.
Perry has also had her fair share of controversial moments as a judge on American Idol. She has been a part of seven of the seasons. The Hot and Cold singer was called out for being “mom-shaming” and “condescending” during season 21 of the famous show.
In 2023, the California Girls singer was accused of “mom-shaming” contestant Sara Beth Liebe. The 25-year-old mom abruptly quitting the show fueled the flames of criticism against Perry.
Critics also expressed their distaste over the instance when Perry told a singer that her performance was underwhelming.
Sharing her controversial moments Perry revealed that spirituality has helped her deal with these “tough times.”
