M25 traffic: Drivers issued urgent guidance ahead of congestion chaos with roads shutting for third time
Drivers are being warned of another new closure of the vital M25 motorways as National Highways continues its work on a £317million improvement project.
The third M25 closure will see the motorway shut between junctions 10 and 11 from 9pm on Friday, July 12 until 6am on Monday, July 15, next month.
Drivers are being told to expect delays in the area and only travel if necessary to allow for the road works to continue.
National Highways will be constructing and installing a bridge on the western circular movement of the roundabout at Junction 10.

The new bridge will consist of 68 beams, each weighing 16 tonnes, as well as another four beams weighing 40 tonnes. The work will be installed as part of measures to boost safety and cut emissions.
The previous closure, and the second of five planned for this year, saw identical work carried out on the eastern side of the motorway.
Jonathan Wade, National Highways Senior Project Manager, urged motorists to follow the guidance the organisation had set out to ensure their plans are not disrupted.
He said: “The previous two closures have gone well with significant progress being made during both.
“We would urge all drivers to follow the official diversion route as this is the best chance of reaching your destination in good time. Please ignore your satnavs and follow our diversion route instead.”
National Highways clarified that the organisation, as well as delivery partners Balfour Beatty Atkins, would be working with local partners to organise the roadworks.
Other key stakeholders include emergency services, Surrey County Council, local businesses and Gatwick and Heathrow Airports.
Two diversion routes are available for drivers to use over the weekend, with traffic levels expected to be heavily impacted by the changes.
Drivers travelling between Junction 10 and 11 should exit the M25 at J10 and take the third exit to the northbound A3 followed by the A245 Painshill Junction.
From here they can travel towards Woking and Byfleet. Drivers should then take the fifth exit on the Six Crossroads Roundabout to the A320, continuing to M25 Junction 11 where the diversion will end.
For those travelling in the opposite direction, they are advised to take the third exit to the A320 south towards Woking, followed by travelling towards the A245 towards Byfleet on the Six Crossroads Roundabout.
By continuing on the A245 along the A3 Painshill junction, they can take the third exit to the southbound A3 to Junction 10 where diversions will cease and drivers can continue on their normal route.

National Highways has called on local residents, holidaymakers, concertgoers and sports enthusiasts to plan their journeys in advance.
If people are still planning their trips, they should allow extra time or make alternative travel arrangements for the July weekend.
