Suryakumar Yadav shared a heartwarming comment on Rohit Sharma’s Instagram post which resonates with every fan of the Indian Cricket Team.
The Indian T20I skipper, Suryakumar Yadav lauded his fellow teammate and former skipper Rohit Sharma as ‘Mumbai cha Raja’ in a comment posted on the T20 World Cup 2024 winning skipper’s Instagram post.
Rohit had uploaded a post where he was seen getting ready for yesterday’s CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2024. The Indian ODI and Test skipper was awarded the International Cricketer of the Year award after leading the Indian side to the 2023 ODI World Cup final and also winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados.
Suryakumar Yadav got his Marathi slang going when he made that comment. Sky played a crucial role in India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign. However, his biggest moment would be the catch from the boundary rope to dismiss David Miller in the final over of the epic finale against South Africa that will cement his name in Indian Cricket history.
Rohit was and continues to be an instrumental figure in the Indian cricket team. Opening the batting he has given the side countless knocks to remember and when on the field, he has showcased his class as the leader of the side, which resulted in the Indian team, being one of the most dominant sides across all formats.
The Indian captain during the award ceremony credited the likes of Ajit Agarkar (Chief Selector), Rahul Dravid (Former Head Coach) and Jay Shah (BCCI Secretary) as the key forces behind the success of Indian cricket under his captaincy.
“I got a lot of help from my three pillars, who are actually Mr Jay Shah, Mr Rahul Dravid (and the) chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar. That was very critical for me to do what I did and not to forget the players, who came in at different points in time and helped the team to achieve what we achieved,” he added.
The captain will now gear up in whites as the Indian team prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh followed by a three-match T20I series as well, all of which takes place at home.
