Nation celebrates 77th Independence Day with national pride – SUCH TV

Pakistan commemorated its 77th Independence Day on Wednesday with a deep sense of tradition and national pride, reflecting the enduring spirit of the Pakistan Movement.

The day commenced with a series of ceremonial activities designed to honour the nation’s rich history and reaffirm its commitment to becoming a true Islamic welfare state.

The celebrations began with a 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital, followed by a 21-gun salute at provincial headquarters.

At dawn, special prayers were also offered in mosques across the country, invoking peace, solidarity, and prosperity for Pakistan.

The highlight of the day’s events will be the national flag hoisting ceremony held in Islamabad, which was mirrored by similar ceremonies at provincial, divisional, and district headquarters throughout the country.

In conjunction with the flag hoisting, state broadcasters Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television will dedicate their programming to commemorating the heroes of the Pakistan Movement.

These broadcasts will pay tribute to the extraordinary contributions of those who played pivotal roles in the creation of Pakistan.

Across cities, vibrant displays of national pride were evident. Roadside stalls offered flags, badges, stickers, and clothing, catering to the festive needs of both adults and children. Public buildings were adorned with national flags and illuminated with colorful lights, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.

Israeli atrocities in Gaza dull Independence Day celebrations

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the ongoing violence in Gaza, lamenting that the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in Pakistan have been overshadowed by the atrocities being committed against Muslims in the region.

“The joy of our Independence Day has faded due to the barbaric actions being inflicted on our Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza,” he said, adding that the international community’s silence on the matter was deeply concerning.
