New Zealand’s Xara Jetly revealed her dream of taking a picture with none other than Virat Kohli.

Not only fans but many modern-day cricketers, from other countries, are also hugely inspired by Virat Kohli, who has redefined the game with his passion and never-say-die attitude. It was proven again when New Zealand women’s cricketer Xara Jetly revealed her dream of taking a picture with the talismanic Indian batter. Jetly, who is yet to make her international debut, recently featured in a podcast where she revealed her admiration for Kohli. The 22-year-old off-spinner was asked to name one batter each from men’s and women’s cricket she would like to face.

“If you could bowl to any two cricketers; one from the men’s game and the other from the women’s, whom would you bowl to?” a co-host questioned Jetly on ‘Fine Legs — The Cricket Podcast’. The young bowler, who represents Wellington Blaze in New Zealand’s domestic cricket, was quick to pick Kohli from men’s cricket. She, however, could not recall any favourite from the women’s circuit.

Xara Jetly also spoke about her goal of clicking a picture with Kohli and sharing it on Instagram. “Yeah, this is really basic for me. I’d bowl to…the women’s game is tougher, but in the men’s game, I wanna bowl to Virat Kohli. If I could take a photo with Virat Kohli and put it on Instagram, that would be the GOAL,” she said.

Xara Jetly was a key member of the Wellington Blaze side which triumphed in the last edition of the Women’s Super Smash. They defeated Canterbury by one run (as per the DLS method) in the final match at Eden Park in Auckland. In her 10 appearances in the tournament, Jetly fetched nine wickets at an exceptional economy rate of 5.59.

In the One-day competition, Xara Jetly’s team Wellington Blaze finished as the runners-up. Jetly featured in 11 matches and picked 17 wickets at an economy rate of below four. Despite her consistency in domestic cricket, Jetly is yet to earn his maiden call-up to the New Zealand women’s team.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was last seen in action in the ODI series against Sri Lanka where India suffered a 2-0 defeat.
