Pero partnered with Hello Kitty to launch its new Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Hello Pero.

Pero celebrated her craft with the iconic Hello Kitty and made sure everyone had a good time at the opening show.

Pero’s opening showcase at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI is what childhood dreams are made of. Bursting with nostalgia, Pero partnered with Hello Kitty to launch its new Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Hello Pero.

Kawaii, which means Cute in Japanese, was beautifully woven into the world of pero at the opening show of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI in New Delhi. The venue was transformed into a Pero x Hello Kitty wonderland where the iconic character found its way into the Indian fashion landscape.

Attendees were welcomed with the iconic Hello Kitty bow and pero’s signature textile heart installations, celebrating the brand’s 15 years of crafting memories through design. Every statement piece created for the show exuded the enduring characteristics of Hello Kitty and the nuanced yet quirky style of Pero.

The show began on a musical note, with a band featuring a talented bunch of musicians giving their own unique twist to classics and contemporary tunes. The one that had everyone sit up and take notice as the models walked during the show, was the nursery rhyme ‘Old MacDonald’. Peppy, foot-tapping numbers were in sync with the vibrant and alluring silhouettes showcased at the show.

The intricately detailed, richly-embroidered beadwork, fabric origami, tassels, hand crochet, applique, patchwork, and custom-shaped wooden buttons in the collection lent a playful dimension to contemporary design. Pero’s signature styles blended perfectly with Hello Kitty charms, socks, bags and hats.

Showcased in an unconventional setting with a palette celebrating the magic of this partnership, pero ended the show with a high energy Kavadi folk dance, performed by 25 artistes from the Sree Brahma Kalasamithy, Kerala. The tassel umbrellas in myriad hues were filled with ‘heart shaped confetti’ which showered on the attendees as the performers danced the night away.

The show was directed by Asha Kochhar and Vidyun Singh. Every stylish, contemporary look showcased was enhanced with hair and makeup done by Marianna Mukuchyan and Ashima Kapoor. The opening show was attended by an array of personalities, including fashion designers David Abraham, Rakesh Thakore, Urvashi Kaur, Sunil Sethi, chairman, FDCI, Silvia Figini, COO, Sanrio GmbH (EMEA, Oceania and India) & Mister Men Limited (Worldwide), Mallika Dua, and Ankush Bahuguna, among others.

Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI is on till October 13, 2024 in New Delhi and will have couturier Rohit Bal close the House of Lakme Grand Finale.
