Prince William, Kate Middleton’s latest message triggers new debate
Prince William and Kate Middleton left people baffled with their latest message as it missed key details.
A special birthday tribute to Prince Harry, shared on The Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media account, has sparked new debate as some royal fans and commentators reveal shocking details about it.
Soon after the royal family message to the Duke on his 40th birthday, a similar one was posted on William and Kate’s official accounts which said: “Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!”.
However, a key detail shows that the message was not a personal one from future king William and his wife Princess Catherine.
William and Kate, also called Catherine, write the initial of their first name such as “W & C” at the end of social media posts made by themselves.
The lack of a “W or C” at the end of the message to Harry indicates it did not come directly from the couple.
Royal commentator Svar Nanan-Sen also claims that The Prince and Princess of Wales are not on speaking terms with the Duke of Sussex.
The commentator continued: “Instead, William and Kate’s team may have wanted to follow the example set by the Royal Family’s message to Harry or they could have felt it would be too much of a snub not to acknowledge a milestone birthday for the Duke of Sussex.”
The choice of image has also sparked a frenzy after it was seemingly cropped to cut Meghan Markle from the picture. The original photo, taken during the Duke and Duchess’s visit to Dublin in 2018, features Meghan sitting next to Harry.
Commentator Dawn Neesom highlighted apparent snub of the Duchess and said the message to Prince Harry “lacked any personal touch”.
Meanwhile, host Ben Leo argued that it is “not Meghan’s birthday”, and the post should be solely about the Duke.
Offering an optimistic view on the social media post, Kriss Akabusi said the move by the Royal Family shows Prince William is “thinking about his brother” on his milestone birthday.
