Ram Gopal Varma recalls eerie and disturbing encounter with Shiamak Davar on a flight; says he communicated with his dead father’s spirit | – Times of India

Ram Gopal Varma recounted a surreal incident on a flight with Shiamak Davar, where the choreographer allegedly communicated with his deceased father’s spirit.
In his recent YouTube video, RGV shared that an encounter with Shiamak Davar, just 15 days after his father’s passing, left him deeply unsettled. The filmmaker had met Shiamak only once at Amitabh Bachchan‘s residence and had minimal acquaintance with him.

During the flight, the filmmaker mentioned that the choreographer was seated behind him. Curious, he moved to sit next to him, and they began conversing. Unexpectedly, mid-air during daylight, Shiamak asked him, “Did your father recently pass away?” It struck Varma as an odd but accurate question.

Fifteen days prior to this incident, Ram Gopal Varma’s father had passed away. When Shiamak Davar asked him about it during the flight, Varma confirmed the news. Sitting by the window, Shiamak then stated, “He is here with us,” surprising Varma. Given Shiamak’s profession as a choreographer, Varma found the exchange unexpected.
Varma initially told Shiamak that he didn’t believe in such matters. However, Shiamak then mentioned details about Varma’s father, including his atheism, which deeply unsettled him. Varma felt a mix of emotions—helplessness, anger, and fear—wondering how Shiamak could know these personal details.

RGV considered various rational explanations but couldn’t find any satisfactory answers. He reasoned that statistically, the chances of guessing such specific details about his father were not impossible. However, he also speculated whether Shiamak, being from the film industry, might have overheard such information and was testing him.
In his career spanning over three decades, Ram Gopal Varma has directed numerous supernatural thrillers such as ‘Raat’, ‘Bhoot’, ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’, ‘Phoonk’, and ‘Bhoot Returns’. He currently makes a special appearance in the Prabhas-led sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘.
