The teenager made 200 runs off just 229 deliveries in Delhi’s rampant showing against Meghalaya in the elite U-19 tournament and remained unbeaten at stumps.
Aryavir Sehwag, son of legendary Indian opener Virender Sehwag, demonstrated shade of his father in his heyday in an incredible 200-run effort off just 229 deliveries on Thursday in the Cooch Behar Trophy.
The teenager scaled the double-century mark in Delhi’s game against Meghalaya in the elite U-19 tournament and remained unbeaten at stumps.
Meghalaya managed to post a score of 260 runs batting first before Delhi soared into the lead thanks to junior Sehwag’s blistering innings which consisted of 34 fours and two sixes.

He was supported incredibly well by Arnav Bugga who made a fine 114 runs off a mere 108 deliveries.
Sehwag saw out the day alongside Dhanya Nakra, who was inching close to the century mark too at an unbeaten 98 runs before the umpire knocked the bails off for the end of the day’s play.
Sehwag senior is considered amongst the most dangerous and destructive batters across generations and revolutionised the sport with his swashbuckling style of play high up the order.
He was a crucial cog in the Indian unit that lifted the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup and opened the innings for the men in blue for a prolonged period of time to incredible success.

His nature of scoring runs at breakneck speed, sometimes with utter disregard for the bowlers, made him a joy to watch and the maverick batter was able to carry out his trademark style to great effect across formats with memorable innings both in Test whites and the Indian blue.
Virender has managed to cross the triple-digit threshold 23 times in Test, with four double hundreds and two triple-tons, one against Pakitan and the other against South Africa.
He also notched up 15 tons in ODIs including an awe-inspiring two-hundred against West Indies.
