The actress who is recognised widely for her daily soaps believes comedy is a booming genre, and she is ready to explore this side of her.
Zakir Khan is preparing to make his mark on television with a brand new show, Aapka Apna Zakir. The show will air on Sony Entertainment Television and is expected to be a complete entertainer. Along with Zakir, the show features a brilliant crew who will collaborate with the comedian. And one of the team members is none other than, Shweta Tiwari. The actress, who is recognised widely for her daily soaps, believes comedy is a booming genre, and she is ready to explore this side of her.
Speaking about joining Aapka Apna Zakir, Shweta Tiwari stated as quoted by ETimes, “I am excited to do a show like this after a long time, wherein viewers will get to see a new side of me. Comedy is currently evolving as a genre and I’ve always enjoyed being in the epicentre of change. When I was approached for Aapka Apna Zakir, I instantly said yes.”
Elaborating more on the role, Shweta said, “I am known as the ‘It’ girl on the show.” She added that she is a trendsetter who is always up-to-date on what is and is not trendy. A significant part of this role allows her to be herself.
Shweta Tiwari further mentioned that each episode of the show will feature Zakir’s trademark storytelling style, in which he tells anecdotes about his own life and the lives of those he meets. These anecdotes are often laced with wit and wisdom, and are sure to strike a chord with viewers.
Some time back, the makers dropped the first promo for Aapka Apna Zakir. Zakir Khan pretends to be a politician who promises to bring entertainment for people of all ages. The caption on the promo read, “Aapse milne aayega. Aur aap hi mein mil jaayega. Aapka Apna Zakir. Jald hi. Sirf #SonyEntertainmentTelevison par.” The makers have not revealed the release date of the show yet.
Shweta Tiwari is known for her role as Prerna in the Ektaa Kapoor show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The actress has been part of other successful shows like Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi and Mere Dad Ki Dulhan. She was last seen on the TV show, Main Hoon Aparajita. She will soon be playing an intelligence officer in Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again.
