Gautam Gambhir was seen at the airport as the Team India Head Coach prepares for his next assignment with the Men in Blues.

Head Coach of India Men’s Cricket Team, Gautam Gambhir was snapped by the paparazzi at an airport ahead of his next assignment with the Men in Blues.

Gambhir, began his stint as the head coach with India’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, earlier this July. While the Indian team had a dominant outing in the three-match T20I series, it was a stark contrast during the three-match ODI series.

Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team were dominant after their T20 World Cup 2024 winning campaign, as they hammered the Sri Lankans to claim the 3-0 series victory.

However, the Indian team were put to the test in the 50-over leg of the tour. The return of senior stars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was not enough as the Lankan Lions’ spinners spun their webs to bamboozle the Indian batting unit.

Barring Rohit, the Indian batters seem to struggle playing quality spinners, something that would have to be addressed ahead of India’s next games. The Indian team tied the first ODI but lost the other two to suffer a 0-2 series defeat in Colombo, which shocked Indian fans across the globe.

The Indian team will now prepare for their next big task which is the two-match Test series at home against their other next-door neighbours in Bangladesh. The matches are set to take place in Chennai and Kanpur respectively.

This would be followed by a three-match T20I series which will take place in Gwalior, Delhi and Hyderabad subsequently. With the conditions in India, usually suiting the spinners, it could prove to be the perfect time to help the Indian team get rid of their spin demons.

Gambhir will also hope to make use of the games at home to get a better idea of what his squad would look like for the headline event of the year, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy set to take place in Australia in November, later this year.

There have been talks of the Indian team possibly introducing a new line of pacers who would play as back-up to the experienced trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami. But it is yet to be confirmed if the Indian team might stray away from the usual contenders for the upcoming games.
