Fernandes was given marching orders during Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham in the Premier League and the Europa League game against Porto.

Bruno Fernandes has shared his reaction after he was shown back-to-back red cards in two games. Fernandes was given marching orders during Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham in the Premier League.

Following a successful appeal against the decision, the Portuguese international will now be able to feature in the next Premier League fixture against Aston Villa.

But he will miss out on the next Europa League match after he was shown two yellow cards during a game against Porto. Fernandes has now opened up on this tough phase and talked about the struggles. Sharing a post on Instagram, the Manchester United captain called the current situation a “tough moment.”

“Tough moment as a team and personally for me, one of the hardest. Almost 5 years at the club with ups and downs, good and bad moments. Personally, I have always had challenges and adversities throughout my career and something that’s never happened was that I go silent or hide myself from responsibilities in difficult moments. I know it sounds cliche and most of you United fans will be tired of it, but no one is more disappointed than myself with my own moment,” Bruno Fernandes posted on Instagram.

“Even through this moment, I appreciate all of you that had positive messages of belief in me and the team,” Bruno Fernandes added.

Bruno Fernandes’ sending-off against Tottenham resulted in his three-match suspension. But the decision was later overturned by the Football Association (FA). He was sent off for a tackle on Tottenham midfielder James Maddison. As a result, referee Christopher Kavanagh brandished a red card in the 42nd minute of the Premier League fixture.

Bruno Fernandes was expected to be suspended for the three Premier League games against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham. But the overturn on appeal comes as a major relief for both Fernandes and Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes had an unfortunate outing in his next appearance against Porto in the Europa League. He was sent off for two bookable offences in the 81st minute of the game. Manchester United were trailing by two goals to one when he was given the marching orders. The Premier League giants went on to play out a 3-3 draw with Porto.
