Popular TV serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) has been ruling the hearts of fans since it first aired in 2009. Recently, the show grabbed the headlines after it was reported that two actors of the show were suddenly terminated by the producer Rajan Shahi. In a shocking turn of events, actress Pratiksha Honmukhe (played Ruhi) and Shehzada Dhami (played Armaan) in YRKKH. They were also rumoured to be dating in real life. The duo was terminated from the show due to their unprofessional behaviour and was asked to leave the sets within 15 minutes.tv
Now, days after being fired from the show, actor Pratiksha Honmukhe took to her Instagram account and dropped a cryptic message.
Taking to her stories, Pratiksha shared a video about importance of speaking up for oneself and taking stand where it is necessary. She captioned the video, “Nothing is more important than your self respect.”
As per media reports, it was said that Sehzada used to mistreat the crew members on the sets ever since from the beginning and despite several efforts made to address the issue his behaviour never changed, which disrupted the atmosphere on the sets. Pratiksha, on the other hand was not matching up to the expectations.
However, an official statement from Pratiksha and Shehzada about their sudden departure from the show is still awaited. Earlier, Talking to Pinkvilla, senior actor Shruti Ulfat, who essays the role of Vidya Poddar in the show lauded the producer’s decision of terminating Shehzada and Pratishka from the show.
She said, “I think the decision is right and in favour of the entire unit. Rajan is very calm in nature and he gave them (Shehzada and Pratiksha) many chances but things didn’t improve and it continued to hamper the harmony of the sets. He was left with no other choice but to terminate them. It will be a lesson for those, who take things for granted.” Ulfta further told Pinkvilla that they used to mingle with other people on the sets. “During lunch breaks, all cast used to eat together except both of them.”
The show first aired in the year 2009 with Hina Khan, as Akshara and Karan Mehra, as Natik, followed by Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan. Since November 2023, it featured Samridhii Shukla and Shehzada in the lead roles as the fourth generation. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is among the longest running TV show in the country.
