After much speculation and drama days ahead of their inter-faith marriage, actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are now married! The couple dated for seven long years and they finally got married under the Special Marriage Act on June 23, 2024, in the presence of their close friends and family in Mumbai.
Sharing their wedding pictures, Sonakshi Sinha wrote in an Instagram post, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it.Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever.”

Who is Zaheer Iqbal?

Born on December 10, 1988, Zaheer Iqbal is an actor and model. His full name is Zaheer Iqbal Ratansi and he hails from an affluent family. His father, Iqbal Ratansi is a businessman and jeweller, while his mother is a homemaker. Zaheer has two siblings: a sister named Sanam Ratani who is a celebrity stylist, and a younger brother who is a computer engineer.
Zaheer Iqbal is a graduate of Mumbai Scottish School, where actor Ranbir Kapoor was his senior.
Zaheer Iqbal’s connection with Salman Khan
Interestingly, Zaheer’s father Iqbal Ratansi is a close friend of Salman Khan. So much so that in 2018, Salman even posted about Iqbal Ratani on social media, calling him his “personal bank”. Salman has tweeted a picture of Mr Ratansi and written, “N this is my childhood friend Iqbal, as a teen he was my bank, I still owe him 2011rs. Thank God he did not take an interest. Bete ko launch Kar raha hoon toh baap ka post toh kar sakta hoon na. Lv the pic.”
Zaheer Iqbal made his acting debut in the 2019 movie ‘The Notebook’, along with Pranuta Bahl, who is Kajol’s niece. The film was produced by Salman Khan and was adapted from a Thai movie named ‘The Teacher’s Diary’. While the film was much praised, it did not do well at the box office.

It is noted that Sonakshi Sinha also made her acting debut in Salman Khan’s movie ‘Dabangg’.
